An evening like any other post-workday, Anna made a frantic commute home in hopes of making it back in time to scarf down something mildly healthy before dashing off for her 7:30 running group meetup. After what felt like a lifetime on the train, she makes her way into her building, only to be greeted by the doorman, Alan, whom openly has a crush on our gal. Handing Anna her mail while filling her in on what he had for lunch, she lunges for the elevator and exclaims "Sorry. Gotta go"! Embracing her first encounter of peace and silence since 6:00am, Anna scrolls through her mail, thinking to herself, "Geez, am I going to have to move", when she spots an envelope that stops her dead in her tracks. Dropping all of the other mail to the elevator floor, Anna stares blankly at time's cruel joke, asking herself how in the world fifteen years have gone by since graduating from high school (and, yet she still hasn't quite mastered the art of adulting). An invitation to the reunion back home is going down in two months and being held at, wait for it, the high school gym. The place where every dance was held and many, many, MANY bad decisions were made. Never in her life has Anna been more thankful to have a ten mile run awaiting her to distract her from this time bombshell. Questions intensify through the runner's mind- "Should I go"? "I wonder if Jess is going". "I mean, I am in the best shape of my life right now". "What in the hell am I going to wear"?
